08h30 - 17h00
We start our Cape Peninsula Full Day Tour passing through the upmarket suburbs of Bantry Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay and Bakoven viewing the beaches where the beautiful bodies and the who’s who of Cape Town hang out. Once past the last house of Bantry Bay we take to the twisty Victoria Road heading to Hout Bay. Depending on conditions we either go over Chapman’s Peak or Constantia Nek. Should we do the latter, we head for the False Bay coastline instead and take Boyes Drive for an elevated view over the bay and surrounding suburbs.
This takes us to the fishing village of Kalk Bay where you get the chance to browse the shops along main road before ending at the Olympia Café (a local landmark known for good pastries and eats) for a coffee and croissant. Now we follow the coast all the way to Cape Point, stopping at Boulders Penguin Colony first. Once we get to Cape Point, we follow the road to the lighthouse. Here you can walk up to the old lighthouse and also to the new lighthouse at the tip of the peninsula. For those with more energy there is the option of a walk to Cape of Good Hope passing the secluded Diaz Beach on the way. Your guide will meet you at Cape of Good Hope.
We then make our way out of the reserve and follow the road along the Atlantic Ocean, passing through the villages of Scarborough, Misty Cliffs and Kommetjie. Lunch is at Café Blue at Imhoff Farm. After lunch we continue back to Cape Town over Ou Kaapse Weg and through the leafy up market suburbs south of Cape Town. We stop at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a guided tour (optional stop) of the gardens either on foot or by golf cart. Once leaving the gardens we follow the road back to Cape Town passing the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital before arriving back in the city in the late afternoon.
